Macaron Day 2012

Macarons from Angelinas in Paris

Admittedly, my macaron adventures have actually been more like misadventures, but it is Macaron Day so in honor of the fact that this little cookie  is quintessentially French and many of my francophile friends adore them, I thought I would share some macaron-related posts and news.

If you are in Paris, make sure to participate in le jour du macaron with Pierre Hermé boutiques (as well as other brands) throughout the city. Make sure to try the macaron mogador if you have the opportunity, check out what is is from this post from Paris Pâtisseries.

The food experts at Paris by Mouth not only tell you the five best macarons, but also tell you where to get them for free on March 20.

If you want to learn how to make macarons while visiting Paris (or if you live there!) then I highly recommend a class from La Cuisine Paris.

Here in the US, if you are a lover of these little delights, keep track of Amy Thomas of God I Love Paris and author of Paris, My Sweet.  She is a big fan and will keep you up to date on her favorites.

And then there is Mardi of Eat Live Travel Write who makes them weekly and teaches classes on how to make them.  (Follow her on Instagram to be constantly tortured with yummy photos of her macaron adventures!)

With that I bid you Happy Macaron Day and if they are something you like, I hope you get a hold of one or two today to celebrate!
